We operate our Spring Black Bear hunts in the remote sections of north central Alberta. Our area produces a good number of 6 foot and larger bears, with P&Y and B&C skulls taken each year. The area also offers a variety of color phase bears making up approximately 40% of the population. Terrain varies from muskeg, lakes, and creeks, to poplar ridges, and stands of mature spruce and pine... all prime habitat for maintaining a high population of bears. Hunts are generally conducted from mid-May through the second week of June.
We are very excited to offer exclusively spot and stalk style hunting for all bear hunts. This style of hunting is challenging, but is truly the most rewarding way to hunt our Black Bears.
Hunting is done primarily by concentrating on the numerous clear cuts, cut lines and lease areas where bears typically travel. We do cater to rifle hunters; however, the majority of our clients have taken their animals with a bow. Accommodations in camp are clean and comfortable. Breakfast, a bagged lunch and full dinner are provided each day.
